So. I have exactly enough free money to pay for one jersey + shipping in time for el Clasico. Originally, I was planning on a Liverpool Torres jersey, but I just found out there are two Barca fanboys in the class I have on Monday mornings, so of course it's going to be Real Madrid. But which one should I get? It's either Ozil or Sami, of course, for my first one (I'm leaning towards Ozil atm, but Khedira has become a surprising dark horse of late).

I kind of want to get the home kit, because I like how it looks, plus it's, y'know, their home kit. However, I have fairly bad rosacea/acne and not very good coloring to wear white with, so I'm afraid it would make me look like a glowing ghostie with a neon pink face. And I'm kind of vain. :|.

I'm equally torn between the away and 3rd kits, honestly. Both purple and dark blue are two of my favorite colors, and I *like* the slime green. And, generally speaking, both colors normally look okay on me, so I'm not fussed either way.

So. Opinions?

I like Ozil more than Sami (although, he really starting to grow on me), so my opinion is biased. If you're anything like me, then I would recommend the away/3rd kit (I prefer the dark blue). I usually don't buy white anything because whenever I wear white, I never fail to waste something on it. I don't know about you, but I would be highly pissed if I stained my Real Madrid jersey.

And I like the slime green too.

Oh, that's a good point - I am super-clumsy, and I hadn't even thought of that. Thanks! :D. That definitely rules out the home kit for now. I think I might be leaning for the dark blue, too.

I've been surprised by how much I've grown to like Khedira- I didn't even notice him at first, but he seems really neat, both on and off the pitch.

I love your icon, btw!

Thanks, I love it when they bromance it up.

Sami's off field personality made take notice of him. On field he really didn't stand out as much. Xabi was the foundation, Ozil and Di Maria were being super cute and amazing, and Lass was a bundle of energy that fouled anything he came into contact with. Khedira, Like you said, was neat, which is something I've come to appreciate.

Yeah, he seems pretty calm and collected and chill, which is awesome to see in a footballer his age.

And OT, Di Maria just seems like this adorable little smurf. I'm just awed at how talented he is.

He's only a year younger than I am, but whenever I see him, I can't help but think that he too adorable. I love that kid so much. Same with Ozil.

...Blue is always pretty?

Uh, yeah, that's all I've got. This post might as well be written in a foreign language for all the references I understood. ;p

:D.

Lol, here you go: Home jersey, blue away jersey, 3rd jersey.

And, for reference:
Mesut Ozil is on the left, Sami Khedira on the right; they're both German midfielders currently at Real Madrid, and they're both pretty much made of awesome :).

ETA: Oh, and El Clasico is the match (coming up the last Monday of this month) between Real Madrid and their biggest rivals, Barcelona - hence my really wanting to get the jersey by then :P.

XD Yes, I am totally sports illiterate; why do you ask?

And ok, seeing those, I must actually my revise my opinion-- I'd go with the purple. The blue is a bit too dark, imho (at least on the website).

And yay, pretty boy pictures~

Ahaha, umm, basically this team is made up of pretty, crazy talented boys. It's both awesome and ridiculous :D.

Oh, and thanks for the vote :D. I'm still wobbling between the two, lol.

LOL I stopped watching when they made it clear Elizabeth wasn't coming back. I liked Carter, but not on Atlantis.

Yeah, I wish they hadn't brought Carter over, but for different reasons-- I didn't want SG1 to get broken up! :( Other than that, though, I thought she did a pretty decent job overall.

Oh well. I was mostly in it for Rodney. ;p

Yes, I've been rewatching season two lately. The first two seasons were my favorite (Season 3 was iffy and I watch halfway through 4 before I gave up). I liked the initial team dynamic, and unlike SG1 everything was decidedly less military which is why I resented when they brought Carter on then had Woolsey take over.

I loved that they were essentially cut off from Earth; it made things less complicated and way more exciting. I feel like a lot of what made SGA great was lost in the writers changing things to get the SG1 fans interested in the franchise. I liked SG1, but I loved SGA. I felt really bereft with how everything ended that I didn't even bother to check out SGU.

Yeah, I didn't even look at SGU either; I loved SG1 before SGA, but I wish they'd just either let it end after season 8 or let it continue at least another season, rather than drag it over to SGA. I liked seasons 1 and 2 of SGA the best as well, generally, though I was a Lorne/Zelenka fan, so I enjoyed the later seasons quite a bit anyway, mostly because of them. I liked what I thought they were doing with it, starting w/ some eps in season five, and I think they could have made it good again if they hadn't had to end it to do SGU.

I just started reading slash (thank you winter olympics...swangoose 4ever!), but I could dig Zelenka/Lorne. It seems really sweet kinda like Rodney/John, but with less snark.

My favorite SGA fic author was Sholio. All of her fics were gen, but they were Sheppard/Mckay centered and very well written.

Oh, I really liked Sholio :D. Sheppard/McKay wasn't my favorite, but I liked the way she wrote them.

I lost all my bookmarks from then, but if you ever want Zelenka/Lorne recs, I could probably dig a few up :). It is definitely a very cute ship.

Oh, snazzy! *fistbumps back* I really liked his character, and it was so awesome to find so much fic/love for a secondary character, even after he'd just come out in a few episodes early on.

Me too! Half the reason I finally forced myself to watch Sunday instead of just skipping over it was because I knew there was Lorne Character Development, so I had to see that.
